Thank goodness.
Before the San Francisco Giants started their Monday night game against the Chicago White Sox — which they thankfully won — some bad news came out. Shortly before the game, catcher Patrick Bailey — who was scheduled to hit seventh — was scratched due to side tightness, and replaced by Curt Casali.
Any ailment to such an important player is noteworthy, but thankfully it seems like Bailey is just fine. He reiterated after the game that the move was more precautionary than anything else.
Patrick Bailey called his side tightness “very, very minor” and that he was a precautionary scratch.

Well thank goodness for that. I’d guess we see Bailey back in the lineup for tonight’s game.
In other injury news, here’s the latest on reliever Randy Rodríguez.
Randy Rodriguez (right elbow inflammation) was examined by Dr. Akizuki this weekend and was diagnosed with a flexor strain. He will not throw for two weeks and then will be re-evaluated.

Fingers crossed that everything’s okay there, and that Rodríguez is back on the mound soon.
