Carson Whisenhunt made his major league debut in last night’s Giants vs. Pirates game. What did Giants fans think?
Good morning, baseball fans!
The San Francisco Giants called up Carson Whisenhunt to start last night’s game, making it his major league debut.
Unfortunately, these posts are written well before the games, usually. So you have much more information about how that start went than I do. Lucky you! Or lucky me, depending on the outcome.
Since I’m asking you guys to tell me your thoughts on his debut, I’m going go go ahead and take a stab at guessing how it went.
Prediction: Three runs on six hits, four strikeouts and a walk in five and a third innings. He had to shake off the jitters after a solo home run in the first, but after that it was pretty smooth sailing until the sixth inning. He got himself into an early jam in the sixth, and was pulled for a reliever after loading the bases. Two of those runners scored after he left the game. Now, the biggest prediction is going to be the amount of run support he’ll receive. I’m going to go ahead and guess he got two runs of support and the loss.
Let me know how I did, and what your thoughts were!
