We’re taking this series into a new ballpark and a new millennium today. Let’s take a look at who your favorite players were in the years leading up to the championship era!
Good morning, baseball fans!
Today, we’re picking up our series from last week and discussing our favorite San Francisco Giants players of the 2000s.
The start of the new millennium was certainly a high-point for the Giants, as they opened a new ballpark, debuted some future Hall of Famers, and watched Barry Bonds hit the snot out of every baseball that was actually pitched to him.
I picked Bonds for the 1990s installment, however, so I’m going to go with Tim Lincecum. It’s hard to pick a decade for him, since he debuted in 2007 and pitched for the team until 2015. But I think we can all agree his most dominant seasons were 2008 & 2009. Lincecum starts in the late 2000s were must-watch, appointment viewing.
This is another tough decade, though, because we still have a lot of the greats from the 1990’s, and several of the greats from the 2010 championship era making their debut.
Who is your favorite Giants player from the 2000s?
