Belt may be injured, but this shirt is not.
Hello and happy Wednesday.
Earlier this week we were hit with the rough news that Brandon Belt had suffered a fractured thumb, which ends his regular season early, and could keep him out of the San Francisco Giants postseason games.
It’s sad news on many levels. Belt deserves only good things, yet seems to have very rough luck with injuries and timing. He’s stuck on 29 homers, with the injury (and an earlier knee injury that kept him out for a very long time) robbing him of the opportunity to hit the 30 mark for the first time in his career. And of course the Giants will be worse off for it, as Belt has been one of their most valuable players this season (he’s third among the Giants position players despite playing fewer than 100 games).
But just because we’re sad about Belt doesn’t mean we shouldn’t celebrate him, so here’s the newest shirt from our buddies at BreakingT, honoring the Captain of the Cove.
