We here at McCovey Chronicles pushed our community to vote for this year’s All-Star Game rosters. How are Giants fans feeling about how the roster ended up shaking out?
Good morning, baseball fans!
Earlier this week, the full rosters for the 2025 MLB All-Star Game were announced, with three members of the San Francisco Giants making the cut. Logan Webb, Robbie Ray and Randy Rodríguez will represent the Giants at this year’s festivities.
We pushed the community pretty hard this year to vote strategically, unfortunately that campaign did not result in any Giants position players making the team. So I wanted to check in to see how everyone is feeling about the results.
Personally, I was pretty excited to see Rodríguez make the team, and I was expecting Webb and Ray after the seasons they’ve had. But I can’t help but feel a little bummed about Rafael Devers. He had the most fan votes of any Giants player, but had the misfortune of being in the same category as Shohei Ohtani. I had hoped he’d still make the team, but no such luck.
That said, at the end of the day Devers has been an All-Star before, so I think Rodríguez making the team (as one of only three relievers, at that!) makes up for it.
