The Portland Trail Blazers are expected to keep Jrue Holiday as they look to compete in the Western Conference next season, according to Jake Fischer of The People’s Insider.
The Blazers traded Anfernee Simons and two second-round picks to the Boston Celtics for Holiday on Monday night.
Fischer adds that Holiday drew trade interest from the Sacramento Kings and Dallas Mavericks, among other teams. Holiday, who signed a four-year, $134 million extension with the Celtics in April 2024, is owed $32.4 million in 2025-26, $34.8 million in 2026-27 and has a player option for $37.2 million in 2027-28.
Holiday averaged 11.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.9 assists last season for the Celtics.
