The NBA has been pretty quiet ever since LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers won the NBA Finals, but George Karl is definitely going to make some noise with his latest tweet.
Karl is most known for his time coaching the Denver Nuggets and Seattle SuperSonics. However, the former NBA Coach of the Year also spent two seasons with the Sacramento Kings.
It’s unclear what went wrong behind the scenes, but Karl clearly had an issue with All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins. He pushed hard for the franchise to ship out Cousins during his time in Sacramento.
Several years have passed since that incident, yet there is still some bad blood between Cousins and Karl.
On Friday, a tweet from Hoops Hype went viral that said “Your first name is the player you disliked the most 10 years ago. Your last name is the player you dislike the most now.”
Karl responded to the tweet with the name “DeMarcus Cousins.” It didn’t take very long for thousands of NBA fans to either like or reply to his post.
Cousins has not yet replied to Karl’s tweet. Perhaps he’ll choose to take the high road since it’s evident that Karl won’t.
It’s still somewhat bizarre to see that Cousins and Karl haven’t squashed whatever issues they had back in Sacramento. That bad blood has spilled over from the hardwood to the keyboard.
