NBA Reacts: Kings fans feel confident in midst of unbeaten preseason

Things are going swimmingly in Sacramento, at least for now.

Kings general manager Monte McNair had a busy offseason, but Sacramento’s roster looks almost identical to how it’s looked in recent years. In fact, there are 12 players returning from last year’s team, not including Alex Len, who played for the Kings during the 2019-20 season.

That may not sound ideal when you consider the Kings have won a total of 61 games in the last two seasons, but according to this week’s poll, fans are unanimously happy with the position that the team is in.

Now, if you walked the streets of Sacramento, I’m sure you’d be able find a handful of people who aren’t happy with the current state of the team — these are just the people that responded to our poll. However, it is indicative of the way things are going with the Kings at the moment.

Not only are the Kings undefeated in preseason play, but they seem to be putting an emphasis on the defensive end. And the best part? They actually have the personnel to make improvements on that end of the floor this year, led by the 2020-21 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, Davion Mitchell.

Outside of Sacramento, NBA fans are split on how much the preseason has affected their view on the team they support.

The NBA preseason isn’t the only basketball going on right now, though. The WNBA Finals are in full swing with the Phoenix Mercury and Chicago Sky tied at one game a piece. Chicago looked dominant in Game 1, but our poll shows fans are still going with Diana Taurasi and the Mercury.

The Mercury and Sky will play Game 3 on ESPN at 6 p.m. PST on Friday.
