The Warriors-Rockets series has been one of the best of the first round so far. These teams do not like one another, resulting in an epic playoff battle. Game 4 was about as exciting as it gets; the Warriors eked out a 109-106 victory in a nail-biter at Chase Center. With the win, the Warriors took a commanding 3-1 lead over the Rockets. With each game being close, betting the spread for this series has been tough to predict. So instead, we will look at past performances and try to predict the best Warriors-Rockets player props for Game 5.
Best Warriors-Rockets Player Props For Game 5
**All Warriors-Rockets Game 5 Player Props are courtesy of Bovada as of 4:30 EST on Tuesday.
Jimmy Butler: Over 18.5 Points (-125)
Jimmy Butler was obviously hobbled on Monday night. For the first three quarters, it looked as if he could barely move. Then he turned things on and ended the night as the high scorer for the Dubs. For Game 5, Butler’s player prop point total is currently set at 18.5.
Even with Butler hurt, this number is way too low. In the only two full games he played this series, Jimmy scored 25 points and 27 points. He also hasn’t scored under 20 points in a game since April 8th. Take the over points for Butler’s points. We don’t expect Playoff Jimmy to be shy scoring in the Warriors’ Game 5 closeout opportunity.
Fred VanVleet: Over 13.5 Points (-125)
Fred VanVleet was huge for the Rockets in Game 4. He was their second leading scorer with 25 points and was dialed in from range. He went 8-for-12 from three in the game, taking all but one of his shots from outside the arc. VanVleet had a slow start to the series, scoring only 10 and seven points in the first two games. Over the last two, he is averaging 18 per game.
VanVleet’s points total for Game 5 is predicted at 13.5. He has blown this number out of the water in the last two games, and we expect that trend to continue. The Rockets need offense from wherever they can get it, and we expect VanVleet to put up plenty of shots again on Wednesday to hit his over.
Draymond Green: Under 19.5 Points/Rebounds/Assists (-120)
Draymond Green has not been filling up the stat sheet this series. That doesn’t mean that he hasn’t been one of the most impactful players on the court, but the stats have not been telling the whole story. Green’s defense has been vital to the Warriors’ ability to stay small and punish some of the Rockets’ bigger lineups.
Right now, Green’s points/rebounds/assists combined line is set at 19.5. In the regular season, he averaged slightly over 20 combined points/rebounds/assists, but he hasn’t been getting near that line this series. Green has combined for 13, 14, 19, and 16 points/rebounds/assists in the first four games of this series. The line of 19.5 for this Warriors-Rockets player prop is simply too high. Although we expect big contributions from Green in Game 5, getting all the counting stats to reach that line will be difficult. Take a look at the Green under for combined points/rebounds/assists.
