Breaking: Steph Curry’s Mom, Sonya, Files For Divorce

Sonya Curry, the mother of NBA superstar Steph Curry, has filed for divorce from Dell Curry, according to a report from TMZ Sports.

Per the report, Sonya officially filed for divorce back in June. The process is still ongoing. It’s unclear what Sonya’s reasoning for divorce is at this time.

This is obviously a disappointing turn of events. Sonya and Dell make up one of the best basketball families out there. They have attended together dozens of games featuring their sons, Steph and Seth. Sonya and Dell would often sit with Steph’s wife, Ayesha. It’s unclear if the three will attend games together anymore.

Here’s what TMZ Sports had to say about the developing situation:

“Steph Curry’s parents are going their separate ways … TMZ Sports has learned Sonya Curry has filed for divorce from Dell Curry. 55-year-old Sonya put in the paperwork back on June 14 in North Carolina … according to court records. A court official tells us the divorce is still ongoing. Details surrounding the reason for the split are unclear — we’re working on it.”

Sonya and Dell Curry have been married since 1988. They raised three kids: Stephen, Seth and a daughter, Sydel.

The celebrity couple has often made headlines over the years because of their support of Steph and Seth. The two attended many games their sons were playing in over the past decade or so.

We’re not sure what caused the split here. Regardless, it’s a sad day within the Curry household.
