In today’s Dub Hub:

  • Netflix announces documentary detailing different perspectives of the 2024 Olympic Men’s Basketball teams.
  • In the latest episode of the Ticket & The Truth Podcast, Basketball Hall-of-Famer Paul Pierce wants to see Giannis Antetokounmpo team up with Steph Curry on the Warriors.
  • Magic Johnson responds to Anthony Edward’s take on the skill level of older generation players.

This summer, Stephen Curry and Team USA made history by winning another basketball gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. It was an exciting tournament featuring teams all over the world, and now, a new Netflix documentary is set to premiere in 2025, giving a behind the scenes look at how it all went down.

For Curry and fans of the Golden State Warriors, the 2024 Olympics weren’t just another chapter in the star point guard’s storied career; they were a defining moment that solidified his legacy as one of basketball’s all-time greats.

While he struggled to begin his Olympic journey, Curry finished it off with a bang, leading Team USA with 14.8 points per game. His dominant 36-point performance against Serbia helped Team USA overcome a double digit deficit to complete the comeback victory. Meanwhile, Curry’s shotmaking in the final minutes of the gold medal round showcased his brilliance on the global stage and became one of the defining moments of the Paris Games.

Warriors News:

Netflix to highlight Steph, Team USA’s Olympic journey in new project | NBC Sports Bay Area

Netflix on Friday revealed a sneak peek into what will “relive the journey” behind the 2024 Paris Olympic basketball games — from the first whistle to the final tip-off.

The project likely will provide fans with a detailed look at the journey of the 12 national teams that competed in Lille, France, and the eight teams that contended for medals in Paris.

It should feature plenty of content from host team France, led by 2023-24 NBA Rookie of the Year Victor Wembanyama, Team Canada and Team USA, along with others.

What are likely Warriors rotations? How likely is it that Kerr will start Draymond Green at the five to unlock the Andrew Wiggins-Jonathan Kuminga combo? — Paul B.

I think there will be games when Kerr starts Draymond at center, same as last season. But I don’t think Kerr is going to force that lineup just to get Kuminga and Wiggins on the floor together. It has to work naturally. If Kuminga is playing well enough that he has to get 30 or so minutes a game, then I could see Kerr moving in this direction.

Three trades to get Stephen Curry the help he needs: Why Brandon Ingram, James Harden are ideal Warriors targets | The Sporting News

Vucevic would be a good fit in the Warriors’ system. He’s a smart elbow passer who loves working out of split cuts, which have been a staple of Steve Kerr’s offense. He could give them an extra dimension with his post play that they haven’t really had previously. And he’s a good defensive rebounder and screener.

ESPN Reporter Makes Blunt James Wiseman Statement | Sports Illustrated

Recently, ESPN’s Tim Bontemps made a blunt statement about Wiseman (via Brian Windhorst & The Hoop Collective).

Bontemps: “There was talk at the time about them considering Tyrese Haliburton with this pick. They certainly should have done that. Should have gone in basically any direction but James Wiseman, who has been a bust of pretty epic proportions. Some of it his fault. Some of it not.”

NBA News:

NBA files motion to dismiss Warner Bros. Discovery lawsuit | ESPN

Citing New York law, the NBA also argued that all of WBD’s claims should also be dismissed because Warner Bros. Discovery was not a party in the 2014 agreement between the league and TBS. TNT Sports, in a statement, maintained its position and argued that it fulfilled its contractual right to match a third-party offer.

“Not only is it our contractual right,” the TNT Sports statement continued, “but it is in the best interest of the fans who want to continue to enjoy our industry-leading NBA content with the choice and flexibility we offer them through our widely distributed platforms including TNT and Max. We will file our opposition in the coming weeks.”

Warner Bros. Discovery has until Sept. 20 to respond.

A 3-team Trade for Pelicans to Move Brandon Ingram, Nets to Deal Cameron Johnson | Bleacher Report

Per multiple sources, Utah has discussed Kessler previously in trade, including a stalled conversation with the New York Knicks. He doesn’t seem part of the team’s long-term plan, and the Jazz get a replacement in Sharpe from the Nets.

Magic Johnson goes off on Ant

“I never respond to a guy who’s never won a championship… He didn’t win a college championship, I don’t even know if he won a high school championship.”

In case you missed it at Golden State of Mind:

Warriors are offseason favorites for several experts despite lacking another superstar

Slater’s article was not the only evidence that experts are bullish on Golden State’s chances of taking a step forward this season. A recent survey of ESPN NBA Experts asked them to vote on which teams they expected to take a “major leap” this season. The Warriors received the third-most points (ESPN used a weighted-vote ranking), only trailing the Spurs and Grizzlies. Given the fact that the Warriors are coming off a 46-win campaign, while neither the Spurs nor Grizzlies won 28, it suggests that several experts think Golden State is on the verge of vaulting to the top of the league.
