Chris Paul’s postseason battles with the Golden State Warriors are well-documented. From his days in LA to his stint with Houston, the Dubs were often the ones standing in the way of CP3 and that elusive NBA championship.
So when Golden State went out and acquired the veteran point guard this offseason only to get bounced in the Play-In by the Sacramento Kings, the jokes practically wrote themselves on social media.
“Chris Paul finally figured out how to beat the Warriors in the playoffs,” a user tweeted.
“So Chris Paul joins the Warriors and for the first time ever a healthy Draymond Green, Steph Curry and Klay Thompson do not make it to the playoffs. It’s almost like this was his plan all along……………” another laughed.
“Chris Paul spent his entire career getting smoked by the Warriors only to miss the playoffs his only season with the Warriors. Ya hate to see it,” a fan replied.
“Chris Paul losing to the warriors all those years and then not making the playoffs with them is basically the story of his postseason career,” another person commented.
“After all those playoff losses to the Warriors, Chris Paul finally found a way to beat them.”
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has said that he loved coaching Paul and hopes to have him back next year. The 12-time All-Star has also stated that he’s not retiring: “This isn’t it. I know it for sure.”
