Golden State basketball is on the way! Come join our game thread and chat about tonight’s matchup here.

The Golden State Warriors look to finish off this back-to-back on a high note as they take on the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00PM PT in San Francisco and can be watched on ESPN and NBC Sports Bay Area.

Previously with the Warriors:

Golden State started off this back-to-back with a 114-103 victory over the Utah Jazz. The Warriors played without Stephen Curry who was a late scratch in the game due to injury management for his lingering knee pain. Fortunately, the Jazz were also severely shorthanded with seven players listed as out prior to the game.

Even with key absences on both sides, the game remained competitive. Utah trimmed the deficit to just four points with under five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter—marking the Warriors’ 28th clutch game of the season, the second-most in the NBA.

However, Golden State closed strong, finishing on a 9-2 run to seal the victory. Dennis Schröder led the way with 23 points in 34 minutes, while Brandin Podziemski continued his impressive stretch since returning from injury, contributing 20 points in 32 minutes off the bench.

What to watch for tonight:

After handling one of the NBA’s worst teams, the Warriors now face the league’s best with Wednesday’s matchup against the Thunder. Oklahoma City sits atop the Western Conference with a 37-8 record, holding a commanding 5.5-game lead of first place.

OKC boasts the league’s top net rating (12.3), fueled by a stifling defense that ranks first in defensive rating (103.9). Offensively, they rank sixth, led by All-Star starter Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The dynamic guard is the NBA’s leading scorer at 32.1 points per game and has topped 30 points in three straight outings, including a monstrous 54-point explosion against the Jazz last week.

Defensively, the Warriors will have their hands full trying to contain Gilgeous-Alexander, but they hope to have Curry back to lead their offense. Curry missed the team’s last meeting against Oklahoma City due to the same knee issue, but in their first matchup this season, he torched the Thunder for 36 points.

Coming off a rough outing against the Lakers—where he was held scoreless in the second half on a career-worst 0-of-8 shooting—expect Curry to be aggressive and looking to make a statement against one of this season’s top title contenders.
