NBA Champion Accused Of Cheating On Fiancée With 8 Different Women

February 2, 2025 by The Spun

The 16 Most Annoying Fan Bases In College Basketball (2:21)

There’s no drama quite like NBA drama, even when it involves players who have been out of the game for nearly a decade.

But that’s what former NBA champion Matt Barnes appears to be in the middle of with his fiancee, who appears to have recently accused him of cheating of her – with over a half-dozen women.

In a recent Instagram post, Barnes’ fiancee Anansa Sims – the mother of two of his children – made a post with the caption “Why Matt?? 8 different women In January” along with a broken heart emoji.

Sims and Barnes have been engaged since 2022 and welcome their second child together this past fall.

According to The Shade Room, Sims followed that up with a post where she seemingly called out the people she was accusing Barnes of sleeping with, several of whom she even had alleged time periods of. She ended that post by saying, “Y’all can have him.”

The post has since been deleted, but the screenshot was still captured by The Shade Room.

Sims does not appear to have deleted any posts of her and Barnes on Instagram, but it’s a situation to monitor if Sims and Barnes are having personal issues right now.

This wouldn’t be the first time that the two have had problems together though. There was a public incident back in 2018 that saw the couple split. But the two seemingly reconciled and are still engaged.

Barnes played in 15 NBA seasons split between nine different teams and usually coming off the bench. He was a part of the Golden State Warriors during their 2016-17 NBA championship season and appeared in 12 of their 17 playoff games, including all five of their NBA Finals games against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He retired in December after winning the NBA title.
