After watching his longtime backcourt mate leave in free agency, Steph Curry let everyone on social media know how he felt about Klay Thompson’s departure.
Taking to his Instagram Story, the two-time MVP reflected on what they were able to accomplish in Golden State:
Gonna miss you @klaythompson … Even though we won’t finish the journey together, what we did will never be done again. Couldn’t have imagined a better run with you and [Draymond Green]. Changed the whole Bay Area. Changed the way the game is played. Killa Klay at the center of it all. Thank you for everything bro. Go enjoy playing basketball and doing what you do.
Fans reacted to Steph’s message on Tuesday.
“this shouldn’t have ended like this. they should have rode into the bay sunset together as warriors,” Alex Medina said.
“Emotional,” a user tweeted. “Slash Brothers were special they changed the game fr.”
“Kinda sad man,” another replied. “But then I remember what they put us through from 2016-19 with that super teaming bs. Glad this [expletive] is over with time for curry to feel what we felt during those years.”
“i don’t even root for the warriors and i’m starting to get sad too,” a fan cried.
