The injured guard can possibly return home.
Per Marc J. Spears of Andscape, Damian Lillard — formerly from the Milwaukee Bucks — and the Golden State Warriors have been “in touch.”

Lillard — who suffered a season-ending Achilles tendon tear during the Bucks’ 2025 playoff run and is expected to miss the entirety of the 2025-26 season — was recently waived by the Bucks and is having his $113 million contract stretched in order to make room for Myles Turner, who they signed to a four-year, $107 million contract.
The prospect of bringing Lillard home to his Bay Area roots is enticing; equally enticing is the prospect of pairing him up with Steph Curry. Both are considered two of this generation’s deadliest long-range shooters and offensive weapons. However, by the time Lillard will be fully recovered, he will be 36-years old, while Curry will be 38. Two aging 6’2” guards helming the backcourt doesn’t bode well for the Warriors’ prospects despite both of their pedigrees.
There’s also the valid question of how Lillard will look like post-injury. While Achilles tears aren’t as damning as they were a couple of years ago, Lillard’s age should give the Warriors pause in terms of how much of his former self he can recover.
