The Warriors organization is giving meals for every point scored this season.

While the Golden State Warriors are feeding the NBA hella L’s, their developmental squad in Santa Cruz is going to be feeding the community.

The Sea Dubs are bringing back the Swishes for Dishes initiative to Santa Cruz for the upcoming season. This program was created along with the Golden State Warriors, Kaiser Permanente, and The Athletes’ Corner in late 2020 to address hunger issues throughout the Bay Area. And to continue the fight against hunger in local communities, this season’s program is growing to include the Warrior Gaming Squad.

100 meals will be donated to Bay Area food banks for each point the Golden State Warriors score throughout the regular season, and each point the Sea Dubs score will bring 10 meals to Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Cruz County and Second Harvest Food Bank of Contra Costa County.

“Continuing the Swishes for Dishes initiative in Santa Cruz this season is so important in fighting food insecurity in our local community,” said Santa Cruz Warriors President Chris Murphy. “We’re looking forward to expanding the program to include Warriors Gaming Squad, which will increase our overall reach in helping those in need.”

  • During the 2020-21 season, the Golden State Warriors, Kaiser Permanente and The Athletes’ Corner donated 1,020,000 meals to Bay Area food banks through the Swishes for Dishes campaign and teamed up with the Alameda County Community Food Bank, Second Harvest Food Bank of Silicon Valley and San Francisco-Marin Food Bank to host five meal distribution events throughout the Bay Area.
  • During the Santa Cruz Warriors 2020-21 single site season in Orlando, the Santa Cruz Warriors, Kaiser Permanente and The Athlete’s Corner teamed up to donate 50,280 meals to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Cruz County.
  • Through the Swishes for Dishes initiative this season, the Golden State Warriors have already donated 46,100 meals to food banks throughout the Bay Area
