Steph Curry gets an ESPY nomination for his 2024 Olympics performance

The Warriors guard is up for the ‘Best Championship Performance’ award

Steph Curry just can’t stop winning.

For his stellar performance during last year’s championship game between the USA and France, Steph is up for an ESPY. Steph’s night-night dagger became an instant classic, securing the win over France for the USA’s 17th gold medal win since basketball was introduced to the Olympics in … 1936?!?! Realization that the Nazi Olympics introduced basketball to the games aside, the United States has only “lost” three times, with a silver medal in 1972 and bronze medals in 1988 and 2004.

In this legendary Olympic championship performance, Curry put up 24 points and 5 assists in 29 minutes, per the USA Basketball website. At age 36 at the time, that’s no small feat. Even if he wasn’t 36, it would still be an incredible achievement — and oh-so satisfying to send Baguette Biyombo and company packing.

Steph has won eight other ESPYs in his career, and a ninth would simply be an addition to an already outstanding collection. Simone Biles, Rory McIlroy and Freddie Freeman are the other nominees, so Steph is among talented competition.
