Steve Kerr: If Jonathan Kuminga comes back, we will for sure spend the early part of the season playing him with Jimmy, Draymond, Steph

May 17, 2025 by Hoops Hype

95.7 The Game: Steve Kerr on if Jonathan Kuminga returns to Golden State: “If JK comes back, we will for sure spend the early part of the season playing him with Jimmy, Draymond, Steph. To me that would be a no brainer. We didn’t have that luxury this year.. We’ve basically been in the playoffs since the minute we got Jimmy and that was also when JK got hurt.”

Kerith Burke: Jonathan Kuminga is sitting next to Joe Lacob at the Valkyries game and when JK was featured on the jumbotron, he pulled over Joe with a big hug to join him on cam. -via Bluesky / May 16, 2025
Bobby Marks: Kuminga will receive a $7.9M Qualifying Offer by June 29. After that there are 4 options: 1. Sign with Golden State. 2. Sign an offer sheet with a team with room (BKN is the only team with $30M+). The Warriors have the right to match. 3. Sign-and-trade (50% of his salary counts as outgoing salary) 4. Sign the QO and become a UFA in 2026 -via x.com / May 16, 2025
Ohm Youngmisuk: Mike Dunleavy Jr. called Jonathan Kuminga’s season was a “resilient” one. But also says it’s a “two-way street” as far as Kuminga coming back heading into restricted free agency. He says despite Kuminga not playing some playoff games, it’s “very reasonable” for Kuminga to return. -via Twitter @NotoriousOHM / May 16, 2025
