Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has never been afraid to voice his opinion on politics, so it shouldn’t surprise anyone that he commented on the results from the 2024 presidential election.
Back in August, Kerr made an appearance at the Democratic National Convention. He claimed the country needed Kamala Harris and Tim Walz as its leaders. The veteran coach said, “I believe leaders should possess logic and expertise, but with the full awareness that none of us have all the answers.”
Well, Kerr didn’t get his wish. Donald Trump has been elected the 47th president of the United States.
Prior to the Warriors’ showdown with the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night, Kerr commented on Trump’s victory. He revealed his message to his players during this uncertain time.
“I just told them in our meeting this morning let’s make America great again and beat the Celtics tonight,” Kerr told reporters with a grin.
That’s not all Kerr had to say about the 2024 election.
“I believe in democracy and the American people have spoken and voted for Trump. I want him to do well the next four years. I want our country to do well,” Kerr added. “I’m just thankful that there wasn’t any voting fraud this time. Last time, I mean, all those illegal immigrants who crashed the border, raped and murdered people and then voted six times, that was unfortunate. But thankfully this time everything was clean. So, it’s great that every election has been really valid except for that last one four years ago. Twinkle in my eye as I say that in case you couldn’t see.”
Suffice to say, Kerr isn’t thrilled about Trump returning to office.
