‘Still feel good’ — GSoM reacts to Game 2 loss

How Warriors fans reacted in real time to their blowout Game 2 loss.

The Golden State Warriors lost Game 2 on Thursday night, getting blown out 117-93 by the Minnesota Timberwolves. It wasn’t a surprising loss, given Steph Curry’s absence, and there was even a lot of encouraging stuff that happened.

But it was, ultimately, a blowout loss that tied the series. Here’s how Warriors fans reacted in live time, using comments from the Golden State of Mind game thread.

First quarter: ‘We may not even score tonight’

The Warriors could not score to open the game. They trailed 13-0 after a few minutes, and didn’t score until the 7:02 mark. Soon they were down 18, with a full bench squad on the court. They found some life late in the quarter, but still trailed 29-15.

Well, I was afraid this might happen. If we can withstand the early surge, maybe we’ll be okay.

edhardyevents
This group doesn’t look like it can score 70 tonight

AsFan79
We may not even score tonight.
What’s the record for fewest points in a playoff game?

Tom Ryugo
This team is discombobulated. And Podz can’t hit the side of the barn.

m.arkal
Moody overachieved for a stretch of the regular season and has reverted to the mean.

dubfreak
Spencer is fearless. We need more of that

AsFan79
We got to 10!

Second quarter: ‘Kuminga proving his doubters wrong’

It was a chaotic second quarter. There were minutes for lots of back of the bench players, including Trayce Jackson-Davis and Kevin Knox II. Draymond Green nearly got ejected as he lost his composure. Anthony Edwards injured his ankle, which looked severe, and left the game. The Warriors were down 22 but, thanks to some big Jonathan Kuminga and TJD minutes, put together a run, but Minny answered. The Wolves led 56-39 at halftime.

EastBayHoops
We need to settle down. And too much monkeying with the lineup also doesn’t help. Kerr pushing buttons like a madman.

3rd-and-King
Jimmy needs to quit deferring.

WHODE
KEVIN KNOX!! Please show us something!

EastBayHoops
That was such a Draymond move *laugh*
Elbow goes absolutely unnaturally to Reid’s jaw. Pretty nuts.

edhardyevents
Just ridiculous how his arms and legs tend to flail around. Trying to get #6 tech

AsFan79
I thought Butler would be aggressive today. Weird

WelcomeToTheBrock
Man. Hope he’s okay. Two depleted teams is not fun.

SantaCruz351
Nice defense and score by TJD.

Kuminga proving his doubters wrong… (Including Kerr)

Third quarter: ‘Are they doing this?’

Despite his injury, Edwards was back in the starting lineup to open the second half. And for the Warriors, Kuminga was in the starting five. He led a furious run that got the Dubs to within seven points just five minutes in. But the Wolves responded with 11 unanswerred, and then the Warriors got sloppy. They couldn’t get good looks, and couldn’t stop turning the ball over. They were quickly down 20 again, and trailed 85-65 going into the fourth. It was basically over.

m.arkal
We are getting the full JK experience. Explosive points and turnovers.

m.arkal
Finally Butler shows some initiative.

m.arkal
Who the F else can do what Kuminga just did?

King4307
SHOW THE HATERS JK

KLAYtheist
Are they doing this?

AsFan79
Podz and Moody suuuucccckkkkkk

Arcman
10 TO is killing them this game. How bad some of them played it gives us hope.

Tom Ryugo
Moody is positively awful.

Fourth quarter: ‘No offensive flow’

The Warriors found some energy, and fought hard, but never were able to get the game very close in the fourth. The Wolves cruised to a series-evening win.

Karen_SFGiantsFan
You get your asses kicked. Why? Turn overs and poor execution. No offensive flow

EastBayHoops
All this said –
I think we can beat this team… and take this series.

AsFan79
Jimmy is timid
I don’t get it

KZ_Panda
One thing is for sure — Minny is definitely beatable. Our chance of having a 2-2 is as good as theirs.

WHODE
Kerr should of rode the lineup that got it down to 7. The main he subbed they took back over. Don’t over think it.

WelcomeToTheBrock
Still feel good about our two next home games
