Win shares were taken from Basketball Reference.
The Best Father/Son NBA Duos By Win Shares
1. LeBron and Bronny James (271.2 Win Shares)
Of course, LeBron James is the reason this father/son duo is atop the list. The all-time leading scorer has the second-most win shares (271.4) in league history and should be surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (273.4) next season. The elder James led the league in win shares for five straight years from 2008-09 until 2012-13.

Bronny James played just a total of 181 minutes in his rookie season. Even with negative win shares in his first year (-0.2), LeBron’s greatness ensures they are first on this list.
2. John and David Stockton (207.8 Win Shares)
The all-time leader in assists and steals, John Stockton (207.7) played his entire 19-year career with the Utah Jazz. The legendary point guard had 13 different seasons where he reached double figures in win shares.
David Stockton (0.1) saw action in just six regular season games. He got into three outings with the Sacramento Kings in 2014-15 and three with his father’s lone team in 2017-18.
3. Dolph and Danny Schayes (191.2 Win Shares)
One of the first real NBA superstars, Dolph Schayes (142.4) did much of his damage in the 1950s. A 12-time All-NBA member, he was named to the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team. Dolph had eight seasons of win shares reaching double figures.
While Danny Schayes (48.8) wasn’t as productive as his pops, he had a lengthy career. He spent 18 seasons in the league, and his 1,138 regular season games are the 69th-most in NBA history.
4. Joe and Kobe Bryant (185.6 Win Shares)
Joe Bryant (12.9) certainly didn’t have the career his son had, but he did spend eight years in the league. He averaged at least 10 points per contest in the last three seasons he played in.
A five-time champion, Kobe Bryant (172.7) is seen as one of the all-time greats of the game. Spending all 20 of his seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, he was an 18-time All-Star and 15-time All-NBA member. In 11 different seasons, Kobe finished with more than 10 win shares.
Dell and Stephen Curry (184.6 Win Shares)
A 16-year veteran, Dell Curry (41.5) is the Charlotte Hornets franchise leader in games played (701). A microwave off the bench for much of his career, he won Sixth Man of the Year in 1993-94. He shot 40.2% from three-point territory for his career, and he led the league at 47.6% in 1998-99.
The all-time leader in three-point makes, Stephen Curry (143.1) is a four-time champion with the Golden State Warriors. If he equals his 7.9 win shares from this season in 2025-26, the Curry family will move up to third on this list.
