Warriors vs. Hornets injury report

The latest injury updates for Tuesday’s game between Golden State and Charlotte.

The Golden State Warriors are hosting the Charlotte Hornets tonight, and it’s a game that they should win comfortably. The Warriors are hosting the game, and the Hornets are on the back end of a back-to-back. Charlotte has one of the worst records in the league (14-42), are currently playing their eighth of nine consecutive road games spanning the All-Star break, and have lost their last two games by … wait for it … a combined 95 points. And just to add to it, it was announced on Tuesday that the Hornets will be without their best player.

So yeah. It would be embarrassing if the Warriors didn’t comfortably win this one.

Here’s the full injury report.

Warriors

Out — Jonathan Kuminga (right ankle sprain)

Kuminga’s return is creeping closer and closer, but it won’t come tonight. Soon, though!

Out — Taran Armstrong (not with team)

If you missed the news, the Warriors recently signed Armstrong to a two-way contract. He’s been playing in Australia’s National Basketball League, so isn’t yet with the Warriors.

Questionable — Trayce Jackson-Davis (illness)

TJD was a late scratch on Sunday, and has been out of the rotation lately. It would be great if he can play though, because this game will hopefully have ample garbage time.

Hornets

Out — LaMelo Ball (right ankle injury management)

The Hornets are giving their lone star a rest, and why not? There’s no reason to push the young All-Star, and they’ve got nothing to play for at this stage in the season.

Out — Brandon Miller (right wrist ligament repair)

Miller’s second season was cut quite short. The 2023 No. 2 overall pick was averaging 21.0 points per game when he suffered an injury in January, and was ruled out for the rest of the season. He played just 27 games this year.

Out — Grant Williams (right ACL repair)

Williams suffered an ACL tear in December, and underwent surgery that not only ended his season, but will almost surely keep him out for a the start of next season, too. Heal up, Grant!

Out — Tre Mann (disc herniation)

Mann is yet another young Hornets player who is out for the year. The 18th overall pick in 2021 had his season end after just 13 games due to a back injury. Back injuries are scary stuff, so hopefully he’s able to make a full recovery and return to the court next year.

Out — Josh Okogie (left hamstring strain)

Okogie was traded from the Phoenix Suns to the Hornets in mid-January, but only played seven games for Charlotte before suffering an injury. He’s yet to suit up in February.

Out — DaQuan Jeffries (left knee effusion)

That’s a gnarly sounding injury, but thankfully Jeffries is considered day-to-day, so it’s not a serious injury.

Out — Tidjane Salaün (right ankle sprain)

Quite a long injury list for Charlotte! Salaün, the No. 6 pick in June’s draft, has struggled a bit in his rookie season, averaging 19.3 minutes, 5.1 points, and 4.2 rebounds, while shooting just 30.5% from the field, despite being 6’9. But he’s one of the youngest players in the NBA, so it might just take him some time.

Enjoy the action, Dub Nation!
