Sacramento will be without Malik Monk and Kevin Huerter.
The day is here. It’s time for Game No. 83, as the Golden State Warriors will head up the road to face the Sacramento Kings. The winner moves on; the loser heads home for an offseason of regrouping. Needless to say, it’s a huge game: not only is a whole bunch on the line, but the two teams have been building a rivalry recently, and three of their four games this year were decided by a single point.
Thankfully, NBA fans will be treated to a superstar-filled matchup, as both teams are fairly healthy. There are a few key contributors missing, but the teams are both healthier than you expect this time of year.
Here’s the fully injury report.
Warriors
Out — Gary Payton II (left calf strain)
Payton missed the last three games of the season, and we’ve known for a few days that he’ll miss this game too. Let’s hope the Warriors keep their season alive long enough for GPII to play again.
Kings
Out — Malik Monk (right knee sprain)
This one feels big, as Monk always seems to be at his very best when facing the Dubs. He averaged a career-best 15.4 points per game this season, always coming off the bench. It’s a big loss for the Kings — Monk was one of the team’s best players during the thrilling first-round playoff series between Golden State and Sacramento last year.
Out — Kevin Huerter (left shoulder surgery)
Huerter was averaging his fewest points per game since his rookie season when he suffered a season-ending injury, but this is still a big loss for the Kings. He started 59 games this year, and is an important floor spacer.
And that’s the injury report, Dub Nation. Everyone else is good to go. Enjoy the action!
