San Francisco 49ers standout Fred Warner has arguably been the best inside linebacker in the NFL the last few seasons. Now, he’s about to paid like it.
According to multiple reports, Warner is set to sign a five-year, $95 million extension, which includes $40.5 million guaranteed. This locks in the 2018 third-round pick with San Francisco through the 2026 season.
Since joining the 49ers three years ago, Warner has drastically outperformed his draft status. The BYU product has started all 48 regular season games, recording 367 total tackles, five forced fumbles, four sacks, three fumble recoveries, three interceptions and 21 passes defensed.
In 2020, Warner earned Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors for the firs time.
