The San Francisco 49ers reportedly said goodbye to Cowboys 2017 first-round pick Taco Charlton on Sunday.
According to Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area, the Niners released the 28-year-old defensive end from the IR with an injury settlement. What that injury is remains unclear for the time being.

Charlton’s time with the Niners was short lived after signing with the team earlier this month. The former Michigan star has spent six years in the NFL, but could never quite live up to the top billing he had coming out of college.
In 60 games between the Cowboys, Dolphins, Chiefs, Steelers and Bears, Charlton’s recorded 95 tackles, 12 TFLs and 11.5 sacks.
Standing 6-foot-6, 270-pounds, Charlton has always had the type of frame NFL teams look for in a bookend pass rusher. He was even compared to all-decade DE Chandler Jones ahead of the draft process.
Hopefully the injury isn’t anything career threatening. But clearly it was enough for the 49ers to decide that he was worth letting go.
