Shanahan is optimistic Al-Shaair’s injury isn’t serious.
The 49ers returned to the practice field on Monday, and it was the final day of non-padded practices. Jalen Hurd returned to practice, which was a good sign. Hurd participated during individual drills:

He still has yet to take any reps during team drills, though.
Shanahan said the team is still easing Hurd in, and the plan is for him to get into team drills sooner than later. There have been no setbacks with Hurd. However, the team is being cautious.
Dee Ford, for the first time since camp started, snuck into team drills. He was a bit too excited on the first play, as he was flagged for offsides. I was standing right there, and Mike McGlinchey clearly moved first, so I’m giving Ford the benefit of the doubt. Ford looks fresh and is still as quick as ever.
Nick Bosa is still working off to the side during team drills. He looks explosive, and it shouldn’t be too long before we see Bosa in action:

Azeez Al-Shaair went down during practice with a knee injury. They had to stop practice and escort the linebacker off with the medical staff. Shanahan said he’s optimistic that Al-Shaair’s injury isn’t serious.
Cornerback Dontae Johnson also left practice with a foot injury. That opened the door for the young guys to get some reps. Shanahan did not provide any updates on Johnson’s status.
Shanahan said Jauan Jennings is close to returning from the reserve/COVID list.
Samson Ebukam had a day off with leg soreness. Arden Key took his spot with the first team.
Tim Harris was “limited” with an undisclosed injury.
