The 49ers will receive comp picks in the fourth and fifth rounds, thanks to Aaron Banks, Charvarius Ward, and Dre Greenlaw
Now that the 2025 NFL Draft is over, compensatory picks for the 2026 NFL Draft have been designated. Per Over the Cap, the San Franciscio 49ers were awarded three comp picks in next year’s draft:
- 4th round – Aaron Banks
- 4th round – Charvarius Ward
- 5th round – Talanoa Hufanga
Each of the other signings was canceled because the players lost. Jaylon Moore’s leaving was canceled out by Mac Jones. Dre Greenlaw’s deal canceled out the addition of Luke Farrell. Finally, Josh Dobbs and Demarcus Robinson X’d each other out.
It’s unclear whether the 49ers could still receive another comp pick if Mac Jones doesn’t qualify due to playing time. So, we’ll wait and see whether that affects anything. For now, these are the projections.
Elijah Mitchell, Isaac Yiadom, and Brandon Allen did not sign deals big enough to qualify for the comp pick formula. The same is true for four free agents the 49ers added, as Richie Grant, Jason Pinnock, Tre Brown, and Siran Neal were all under the threshold for the compensatory pick formula.
The 49ers currently own one pick in each round from Rounds 1 through 6 in the 2026 NFL Draft. They don’t have their seventh-round selection after sending that pick to the Houston Texans in exchange for defensive tackle Khalil Davis, who the team acquired ahead of the 2025 NFL trade deadline.
