According to reports across the league, the robbery was over his Rolex watch, the suspect is in custody, and the wide receiver is in stable condition. As of this posting, nothing else is known about Pearsall’s condition, but this article will be updated as more information comes to light.

49ers Ricky Pearsall Shot In Attempted Robbery, Condition Stable
As of this posting, we do not know the severity of Pearsall’s status following the shooting. However, he is reported to be stable, which heavily suggests this is not a life-threatening injury.
Ricky Pearsall originally joined the NFL as a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Selected by the San Francisco 49ers, the Florida product joined a talented depth chart comprised of star receivers Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel along with running back Christian McCaffrey and tight end George Kittle. At the time, some believed that his selection could have signaled a Bradon Aiyuk trade. However, the two sides agreed to a long-term deal just a few days ago, so Deebo Samuel could be the odd man out in San Francisco as soon as 2025.
Even before he was shot, Ricky Pearsall likely would not have played a large role in the offense given all the talent on the roster. The 49ers were NFC Champions last year and narrowly missed out on their first Super Bowl win since the Steve Young days. With most of the core coming back for one more season, this could be the 49ers last chance to win it all before they need to start making difficult financial decisions. The team is well over the projected 2025 salary cap and they still need to extend quarterback Brock Purdy and offensive tackle Trent Williams.
