Brock Purdy was Kyle Shanahan’s only challenger in our weekly Reacts poll for the 49ers
During this week’s FanDuel Sportsbook SB Nation’s Reacts survey, we asked San Francisco 49ers fans which person in the organization had the most to prove in 2025. The options were head coach Kyle Shanahan, quarterback Brock Purdy, defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, and general manager John Lynch.
According to our poll, Shanahan was the runaway answer:

As is the case with any head coach, Shanahan takes the brunt of the blame whenever things go wrong on the 49ers.
Despite San Francisco being one year removed from a Super Bowl appearance, fans remember everything that went wrong in 2024. Shanahan and Lynch brought in free agents who did not pan out across the board. However, blaming them for Brandon Aiyuk, Christian McCaffrey, Javon Hargrave, and Trent Williams’s injuries is unfair.
Purdy kept the offense afloat last season despite those injuries. He came in second in the voting. Expectations will be much different for Brock moving forward. He is now being paid as if he’s one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, so the 49ers will need their franchise QB to produce like one.
It’s not surprising to see Saleh or Lynch receive a low number of votes. Who did you vote for? Scroll down and let us know in the comments below.
