Who will the 49ers select on the final day of the draft?
The San Francisco 49ers will be active on the final day of the NFL Draft. They have seven picks on Saturday:
- Round 4, Pick 113
- Round 4, Pick 138
- Round 5, Pick 147 (from Saints via Commanders)
- Round 5, Pick 160 (from Vikings)
- Round 7, Pick 227
- Round 7, Pick 249
- Round 7, Pick 252
The 49ers used all four picks so far on defense, something that hasn’t happened since 2000. Will we see a change today? More than likely. Let’s take a look at the best players available for the 49ers today. This time, we’ll start on the offensive side of the ball.
Offense
Running back
DJ Giddens
Bhayshul Tuten
Jarquez Hunter
LeQuint Allen
Damien Martinez
Jaydon Blue
Dylan Sampson
Cam Skattebo
Ollie Gordon II
Trevor Etienne
Devin Neal
Brashard Smith
There’s a lot of speed on that list. There are also some versatile players. Kyle Shanahan said he wants to draft a running back every year. The fourth round could be it.
Blue is from Texas, and the 49ers brass was heavily involved with Longhorn players during the Pro Day circuit.
Wide receiver
Jalen Royals
Tory Horton
Ricky White
Isaiah Bond
Tez Johnson
Jaylin Lane
Elic Ayomanor
KeAndre Lambert-Smith
Jaylin Lane
Chimere Dike
Royals is a YAC threat.
Lane feels like the type of wideout the 49ers would take a chance on.
Bond couldn’t catch on at Texas after a strong season at Alabama.
Dike is a deep wideout who didn’t do much else.
Tight end
Jalin Conyers
Thomas Fidone
Gunnar Helm
More Texas players? Helm is intriguing.
Offensive line
Miles Frazier, IOL
Marcus Mbow, IOL
Jalen Rivers, OT
Mbow. Please.
Defense
Defensive line
- Jack Sawyer, Edge
- Joshua Farmer, DT,
- Bradyn Swinson, Edge
- Ty Robinson, DT
- Elijah Roberts, DT
- Rylie Mills, DT
- Que Robinson, Edge
- Barryn Sorrell, Edge
- Ty Hamilton, DT
- JJ Pegues, DT
- David Walker, Edge
- CJ West, DT
Sawyer is undersized. But so is Walker. Swinson didn’t become a starter until his last season. He might be more of a 3-4 player. The same is true for Robinson.
Safety
Jaylen Reed
Craig Woodson
Billy Bowman Jr.
Dan Jackson
Lathan Ransom
The safety class isn’t great. If the 49ers wait too long, it’s a sign they like Ji’Ayir Brown more than the fanbase.
Which prospects do you want to see the 49ers take a swing on during the third day of the draft?
