Last weekend, Olivia Culpo and San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey got married in Watch Hill, Rhode Island. The former Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover model wore an elegant dress designed by Dolce & Gabbana.
“I wanted something that felt as serious as that commitment,” Culpo told Vogue. “I didn’t want it to exude sex in any way, shape, or form. I wanted it to feel effortless and as if it’s complimenting me, not overpowering me.”
On Friday night, Culpo shared additional photos from her wedding. She wrote, “Details and babies.”
Culpo’s slideshow really put into perspective how breathtaking the setup was for her wedding.
Unfortunately, not even Culpo’s special day was immune to criticism from online trolls. Earlier this week, Instagram influencer Kennedy Bingham mocked the model’s wedding dress.
“I’ve been a bridal creator for four years now, and I have never said this before, but I do not like this wedding dress,” Bingham said. “… I also think it’s weird how much she’s talking about coverage, especially as someone who in her day-to-day life is not a modest dresser … I just think the usage of the word ‘covered’ is so icky, because you are not covered in day-to-day life. And, also, why is he thinking you’re the most beautiful when you’re covered? That’s such an odd thing.”
Culpo and McCaffrey both fired back at Bingham for making “evil” comments. Judging by the former’s latest social media activity, she won’t let the critics stop her from posting new content.
