Community pulse: Fans want to keep key in-house free agents

Lots of talent on defensive side of the ball

The 2025 NFL offseason is cracking up and we’re in full free agency mode here.

And that’s a good thing, since players can agree to terms with new teams in just 10 days. Wow, 10 days. It’s time to get busy.

So, we thought it was a perfect time to dedicate this week’s Las Vegas Raiders Tuesday Community Question to free agency. We asked what our community want to the team focus on, keeping key in-house free agents (there’s a lot on defense) or players from other teams?

Many fans want to keep key players from leaving and that’s understandable. But the reality is, the Raiders have a lot of salary-cap room and many needs, so the new regime will likely try to both keep key free agents, while adding outside talent as well.

Here are some of your responses:

Love to get Moehrig, Hobbs back but hard to say if we do. Chaisson and/or Koonce must return as we need another edge. Spillane is a must-sign but not for big money. Butler probably too.

Trust the braintrust, but I don’t see any reason to spend big on the guys we have. I like Spillane, Chaisson, Koonce (on a prove it deal) and Moehrig. The others can probably be upgraded in the draft or FA – but if Pete or TB12 think different? Listen to them – not me.

We’ve got a lot of mid players moving to FA…. unless you think the coaching will make all the difference, why would we want them back on bigger contracts? Moehrig is the only guy I’d be eager to sign, maybe Spillane, but that’s about it. Everyone else is a JAG.

I say in house free agents to sign back, like Spillane, TM, Butler, Koonce to name a few, then take a look at free agents out there that fit what PC and the new coaching staff is bringing to the organization. RN4L!
