Maxx Crosby On State Of Raiders: ‘I’m Not Here To Rebuild’

October 19, 2024 by Raiders Nation

Maxx Crosby, Raiders

With Davante Adams officially gone, much of the attention concerning the Las Vegas Raiders has turned to their leader and superstar defensive end, Maxx Crosby. If the Raiders feel there is no chance to compete, the franchise could choose to start over and go into a full rebuild, and they could conceivably bring in a huge haul for Crosby if they choose to make him available.

That certainly doesn’t seem to be the case at the moment with Raiders owner Mark Davis making it clear that isn’t happening. Crosby himself has been adamant about wanting to stay with the franchise for the entirety of his career, but he also wants to win.

The Raiders’ leader recently spoke about this, saying that he isn’t here to rebuild he is here to win and that is all that matters to him, via Crunch Time Sports:

“I’m not here to rebuild, I’m here to win. So I don’t know, whatever that means. But yea, I’m here to win now. Wherever I’m gonna be I’m gonna be here to win so that’s all that matters to me.”

The trade of Adams, still one of the best receivers in the league, would seem to some to be a sign that the Raiders could be looking to start over, but head coach Antonio Pierce doesn’t feel that is the case, which is right in line with what Crosby is looking for as well.

Pierce said he didn’t see that move as part of a rebuild and feels it is business as usual for the Raiders going forward. At 2-4, the Raiders have some serious work to do to turn this season around, but there is still time to make that happen, and Crosby will undoubtedly be the man to set the tone in the locker room and on the field.

Because the Raiders spoke out against the idea of trading Adams before this deal ultimately happening, many will wonder whether Crosby’s time with the franchise could be ending regardless of what is said in public. Unfortunately, these rumors are unlikely to die out soon, but the best way to silence them is to win.

Maxx Crosby Explains Shoving of Raiders Assistant Coach Mike Caldwell

Another moment that didn’t help the idea that Maxx Crosby might be frustrated with the Raiders was when he was seen shoving assistant coach Mike Caldwell on the sideline during the team’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. But Crosby made it clear that was something blown out of proportion.

Crosby called the shove a ‘love push,’ adding that it is something he and Caldwell do to each other all the time before making it clear that they have an excellent relationship.
