The Las Vegas Raiders’ explored the veteran linebacker in 2020
If the Las Vegas Raiders want to revisit their interest in veteran free agent linebacker Mychal Kendricks, they are free to do so.
ESPN reported on Thursday that Kendricks has been sentenced to one day in jail and 300 days community service stemming from a 2018 arrest, and he is free to resume playing,
Free-agent LB Mychal Kendricks was sentenced today to one day in jail, three years of probation, and 300 hours of community service for his 2018 guilty plea on insider-trading charges. Kendricks is now free to resume his NFL career immediately and he wants to continue playing.

The Raiders had interest in Kendricks twice in 2020. They were close to signing him last summer and then brought him in for a visit in October.
The Raiders have a new scheme this year under new defensive coordinator Gus Bradley, so it is not known if there is interest. However, Kendricks —who turns 30 in September — played with the Seattle Seahawks in 2018-19 and they used a similar scheme as Bradley.
The Raiders could use a veteran linebacker even though they recently signed Darron Lee. Kendricks played one game with the Washington Football Team in 2020. He entered the NFL in 2012 and has started 91 games.
Perhaps now that Kendricks has his legal issues settled, the Raiders will circle back to him.
