Could they reunite in Las Vegas?
Now that Pete Carroll is in place as the new head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders, the biggest question is who will be the team’s quarterback in 2025?
Naturally, the early speculation has pointed to Russell Wilson, who Carroll won a Super Bowl with for the Seattle Seahawks. Wilson, 36, is a free agent this year after starting many games for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024.
Carroll, while appearing on the ‘What the Football with Suzy Shuster & Amy Trask podcast,’ was asked about the possibility of signing Wilson.
Carroll didn’t say much, though.
“It’s so early, and we’re just in the midst of trying to find the puzzle pieces,” Carroll said. “We’re not even putting them together yet, so I can’t even say … Free agency hasn’t come yet … I can’t tell you right now. I could guess, but it would just be a guess.”

Carroll drafted and coached Wilson in Seattle for 10 seasons.
A source close to both Carroll and Wilson told Silver and Black Pride that they expect Wilson to join the Raiders this season because it makes too much sense. The source explained Wilson would likely love it and Carroll would probably be on board.
The two had a messy breakup in 2022 when Wilson was traded to Denver. But the two have since made up and Wilson, 36, has spoken kindly of Carroll publicly.
While on the podcast, Carroll said he expects Marshawn Lynch will be around the team often. Lynch, who starred for Carroll in Seattle, was at Carroll’s opening press conference Monday.
