Standout left tackle cleared to practice
The Las Vegas Raiders have answered their most pressing injury question Tuesday as they announced that standout left tackle Kolton Miller has passed his physical and has been cleared to practice.
Thus, he was lifted from the Physically Unable to Perform list, which has spent the first four weeks of training camp. He is practicing with the team Tuesday night.
Miler has 19 days to get ready for the regular-season opener, September 8 at the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium. Miller had offseason shoulder surgery after he missed several games last season.
He had been working on the side and the team has been hopeful he would ready to be lifted from the PUP list by the August 27 deadline. Had that not happened, who would had to miss four games.
But Miller seems on track. Andrus Peat had been working with the first team in training camp with Miller sidelined.
Last week, rookie guard Jackson Powers-Johnson was lifted from the PUP. He was out for the first three weeks of training camp as he was recovering from a concussion. The second-round pick from Oregon may have a chance to win the starting job early in the regular seoans, but veteran free-agent addition Cody Whitehair is expected to start at left guard against the Chargers.
