Can defensive tackle continue to make strides?
Las Vegas Raiders’ veteran defensive tackle Adam Butler has been impressive in training camp.
Let’s look at what to expect from the veteran who is entering his second season with the Silver and Black in the 2024 NFL season:
Size:
6-5, 300 pounds.
2023 highlights:
He had a nice first season for Las Vegas. He didn’t start any games, but he was a valuable rotational player. He provided a nice interior pass-rush burst and had five sacks, the second highest total of his first six NFL seasons. He tied a career-high with nine quarterback sacks and tackles for losses with eight. He had 28 total tackles.
His career highlights:
He spent his first four seasons with the New England Patriots and one season with the Miami Dolphins where has spent time with multiple members of the current Raiders’ defensive staff. Butler, 30, has stated 13 games and has 22 career sacks.
What he offers Raiders in 2024:
The Raiders brought Butler back in free agency for a reason. They want him to continue to be a pass-rush force from the inside and play in a rotation.
Best-case 2024 scenario:
He has looked good in training camp, so the Raiders just want to see more of what he brought last season and in this summer during the regular season. If there is an opportunity for more playing time, the Raiders would like to more of his relentless play.
