Las Vegas is pretty stacked at position in year of change
The Las Vegas Raiders have young, interesting group at running back heading into the 2024 season.
During training camp, the group has shown promise. Let’s take a look where the position
stands:
Starting spot:
Zamir White
The sure things:
Alexander Mattison, Dylan Laube, Ameer Abdullah
Contenders for remaining roster spots:
Brittain Brown, Sincere McCormick.
Considered:
The Raiders had a planned workout with Cam Akers last month, but he signed with the Houston Texans prior to it.
Free agent who departed:
Josh Jacobs (Green Bay Packers). Brandon Bolden and Jakob Johnson are free agents.
Free agent options:
Dalvin Cook, Latavius Murray, Kareem Hunt, Melvin Gordon
Waiver wire:
The Raiders could scour the waiver wire after August 27 when the initial 53-man rosters are set if they want to add.
Conclusion:
The Raider’s first four running backs are pretty strong. But if a name hits the waiver that Las Vegas general manager Tom Telesco thinks can help, I could see him making an addition.
