Team is excited about young receiver/special teamer
Las Vegas Raiders’ third-season wide receiver DJ Turner is an intriguing player.
Let’s look at what to expect from Turner in the 2024 NFL season:
Size:
5-9, 206 pounds.
2023 recap:
He was on the active roster for the final 10 games of the season and was a standout on special teams. He had 10 tackles on special teams. He played just 12 snaps on offense and didn’t have any catches. In 2022, as a rookie from Pittsburgh and Maryland, Turner played in nine games. He played some special teams. On offense, he had four carries for 26 yards.
What he offers Raiders in 2024:
Turner has earned high praise from head coach Antonio Pierce, who basically said he was a lock to make the roster because of his improvement as a receiver (He has stood out in practices and in the preseason) and because he is a core special teamer.
Best-case 2024 scenario:
There is opportunity as the fourth receiver in the rotation. Turner, 27, can take that job and be a much bigger part of the offense in addition to becoming a dominant performer on special teams.
