What to expect from free-agent running back?
Las Vegas Raiders’ signed running back Alexander Mattison in free agency.
Let’s look at what to expect from the Boise State product in the 2024 NFL season:
Size:
5-11, 215 pounds.
2023 season:
Mattison was the Minnesota Vikings’ lead running back for most of the season. He started 13 games and had a career-high 700 yards on 180 carries. He added 30 catches for 192 yards.
What he offers Raiders in 2024:
He will be the Raiders’ primary backup behind new starting tailback Zamir White. Mattison is a solid pro who has had a good training camp. He can be a change-of-pace option for White and he also has good hands as a receiver out of the backfield.
Best-case 2024 scenario:
He is a player who the Raiders feel can start if there is an injury to White and who can be put into several offensive alignments. He can be a threat in the passing game.
