Raiders Trade WR Jakobi Meyers To Jaguars

November 20, 2025 by Raiders Nation

Jakobi Meyers, Raiders

The rumors surrounding wide receiver Jakobi Meyers’ future with the Las Vegas Raiders have been swirling since just before the start of the regular season. Meyers requested a trade when the two sides were unable to come to terms on a contract extension, and while the Raiders refused to do so at that time, many felt it was only a matter of time before the Raiders chose to move on.

With the Raiders significantly underperforming this season and their playoff hopes all but dashed following their Week 9 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, and the NFL Trade Deadline coming right after, it seemed like a foregone conclusion that Meyers had played his final game in the silver and black.

And that wound up being the case as the Raiders agreed to trade Meyers to the team that just defeated them, the Jaguars, in exchange for fourth and sixth-round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft via Raiders News Wire’s own Ryan Ward:

Getting a pair of draft picks for Meyers has to be viewed as an overall positive for the Raiders, even if they aren’t high picks. Meyers had a pair of strong seasons for the Raiders, but was not as effective this season, at least in part due to the injuries he was dealing with.

The Raiders’ signing of veteran Tyler Lockett made this decision easier, and the team has now opened up more opportunities for young receivers such as Tre Tucker and rookies Jack Bech and Dont’e Thornton. Tight end Brock Bowers is obviously still the Raiders’ top pass-catching option, but the team still has multiple players with potential, and hopefully, they will be able to show that.

Meyers appeared in 38 games for the Raiders, totaling 191 receptions for 2,186 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Brock Bowers reacts to Raiders’ loss after 3 TD performance

Raiders All-Pro tight end Brock Bowers finally looked like himself once again after dealing with a knee injury since Week 1. Bowers finished with 12 catches for 127 yards and three touchdowns against the Jaguars; however, it came in a loss as the Raiders came up just short, falling 30-29.

Afterwards, Bowers spoke about his disappointment at not being able to celebrate his return from injury with a victory, regardless of how well he performed individually.
