Expectations are high for Raiders’ rookie running back
Ashton Jeanty hasn’t taken one carry yet for the Las Vegas Raiders. Still, his looming presence has already dramatically changed the perception and expectations of the team’s running attack in the 2025 season.
Recently, NFL analyst Warren Sharp ranked the running back rooms in the NFL. The Raiders stick out as the No. 7 overall group in the NFL. Here is the full list:
ranking the NFL’s best running back rooms:
1. Lions
2. Eagles
3. Falcons
4. Ravens
5. Dolphins
6. 49ers
7. Raiders
8. Colts
9. Buccaneers
10. Packers
11. Seahawks
12. Bills
13. Rams
14. Jets
15. Chargers
16. Cardinals
17. Texans
18. Vikings
19. Saints
20. Bengals
21. Patriots…— Warren Sharp (@SharpFootball) July 7, 2025
It’s remarkable that the Raiders are already ranked this high because the rest of top 10 consists of teams with established running backs.
The Raiders had a dreadful ground game in 2024. That’s why Jeanty was selected at No. 6 overall. The Raiders badly need his and it is clear the expectations are that he will have an immediate major impact.
