The trade between the Seahawks and Raiders around Geno Smith is complete. Check out the final players involved.
The Las Vegas Raiders began overhauling their roster already this offseason with the biggest moves happening at quarterback. Geno Smith is the new starting QB man after a trade with the Seattle Seahawks, and as we head into the 2025 NFL Draft, that deal is going to be finalized when the Seahawks make a pick on Day 2.
Original terms of the Geno Smith trade
Raiders receive: Geno Smith
Seahawks receive: 2025 third-round pick (No. 92)
Who did the Seahawks select with the pick from the Geno Smith trade?
When the Seahawks traded Geno Smith, the draft order for the first three rounds was already set, so both teams knew it was going to be pick 92 when the deal was made. Las Vegas also owned pick 68 early in the round, but that wasn’t the one used.
The pick was originally held by the Detroit Lions, but they traded it to the Jets in 2024 for the 126th overall pick that year. The Jets sent the pick to the Raiders as compensation for Davante Adams at the 2024 NFL Trade Deadline.
At pick 92, the Seattle Seahawks replaced Geno Smith with Alabama QB Jalen Milroe.
