Tom Brady Expected To Increase His Presence With Raiders

January 11, 2026 by Raiders Nation

Tom Brady, Raiders, Geno Smith

As a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, Tom Brady’s got plenty of influence when it comes to long-term decisions for the franchise.

Brady played a part in some of the Raiders’ major moves this past offseason, including the hirings of general manager John Spytek as well as head coach Pete Carroll. However, Brady’s first season as the team’s owner has gone terribly, as they sit at 2-13. While they had one of their best games of the 2025 season in their loss to the Houston Texans, it’s clear that some changes are needed this offseason.

Some have called for Las Vegas to part ways with people like Carroll, although Brady will likely consider all routes.

As for his physical presence with the team, Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported Brady is expected to increase his presence around the facility more:

“Legendary quarterback Tom Brady and his business partner Egon Durban have wielded significant influence since becoming Raiders minority owners last year. Brady is close with former Michigan teammate and current GM John Spytek, with both serving as the sounding board for one another. While Spytek was Brady’s GM target last year, Brady’s prime target for head coach was Ben Johnson, who took the Bears job instead. Expect Brady — who has spent little time in the Raiders building as he balances his broadcasting duties on Fox and other business interests — to increase his presence as the decision closes in.”

Not only has Brady had a say in personnel and staffing decisions, but he is also one of FOX’s main broadcasters, and thus spends a considerable amount of time on the road. However, it sounds like he understands that he needs to be around more to ensure that the Raiders are doing whatever they can to improve.

The jury is still out on whether Brady’s involvement will ultimately be a positive thing, but it’s hard to argue that having someone like him helps bring people into the room. While Brady has a strong case to be the NFL’s GOAT, how he helps to shape the Silver and Black will be worth monitoring.

Tom Brady defends roles as Raiders minority owner and broadcaster

Many executives and fans were skeptical of Tom Brady acting as both a Raiders minority owner and a FOX broadcaster, calling him out for a potential conflict of interest. However, Brady defended his roles with a lengthy explanation, stating that he’s passionate about both due to his love for football.
