3-0 aren’t the only exciting numbers that Las Vegas can boast this season so far
The big number, of course, is 3-0.
That’s the Las Vegas Raiders’ record and it’s the bottom line. Yet, the Raiders are 3-0 in style. They are putting up huge individual numbers on both sides of the ball. Truly, these numbers are remarkable and historic in some ways.
Let’s take a look at three players or position groups that are putting up dazzling stats for the Raiders.
Derek Carr:
The Raiders’ quarterback is an early NFL MVP favorite. He leads the league with 1,203 passing yards. He’s on pace for just over 6,800 passing yards in a 17-game season. The NFL record for single-season passing yards is 5,477 yards set by Peyton Manning in 2013. That was in a 16-game season. If this was a 16-game season, Carr would be on pace for just over 6,400 passing yards. It’s early, but Carr has built himself a big cushion and he just might break the all-time record.

Maxx Crosby:
While Carr is an MVP candidate, Crosby is in the early mix for NFL Defensive Player of the Year. The third-year player is simply wrecking shop as a pass rusher.

Crosby is healthy and fresh and he is simply having a monster start of the season.

The pass catchers:
This might be the most wild stat of them all:

Holy crap, that’s crazy. Ruggs has 237 receiving yards, while Waller has 224, Edwards has 210 and Renfrow has 204. All four of them are on pace to post more than 1,000-yard receiving yardage seasons.
These types of numbers of suggest Carr and his receiving crew are for real. Try containing that. Someone is always open and these guys are delivering in the clutch.
Bryan Edwards leads the NFL with 163 receiving yards (on seven catches) in the fourth quarter and OT of games this season.
