Best Philadelphia Flyers by Sweater Number: 61 to 70

August 28, 2024 by Last Word On Hockey

We are back with part seven of our series, getting to some more of the forgettable sweater numbers in Philadelphia Flyers history. Although there are notable players that are following, there are many that are rather more forgettable. So, without further ado, let’s jump into part seven of the Philadelphia Flyers jerseys number series! As a note, in today’s list a few numbers had no player representatives, such as 63, 67, and 69. However, as you will agree when we get to him, one player almost makes the list worth it by his self.

The Best of the Philadelphia Flyers with Jerseys Numbered 51 through 60

61. Justin Braun

Braun came over to Philly for the 2019-2020 season and stayed with the club until being traded late the next season. He was dealt to the Rangers where he played just eight regular season games and a few post-season games. Moreover, Braun returned to the Flyers last season, bringing his veteran presence back to the lineup. Braun doesn’t do much to fill up the scoresheet, but his work on the penalty kill, and ability to block shots gets him a spot on the list.

62. Nicolas Aubé-Kubel

Aubé-Kubel gets the spot on this list due to the reason that he was the longest-tenured Flyer with this number. He was a member of the team that finished second in the Metropolitan Division when the NHL had the Covid-19 2019-20 shortened season play. Over four seasons with the Flyers, NAK appeared in 104 games, in which he tallied just 28 points (10 goals, 18 assists). This production, even though it’s not much, was by far the most for any player who has worn that number.

64. Maksim Sushko

Sushko appeared in just two games with the Flyers and is the only person to have this number on their back as a Flyer. He produced no points in those two games and was a minus-one.

65. Nate Guenin

Kyle Greentree and Guenin were up for competition for this spot on the list. Guenin gets the nod since he played 10 more games than Greentree. Guenin produced two assists in his 12 games with the club, while Greentree didn’t produce any.

66. Yanick Dupré

Dupré appeared in one game as a Flyer while wearing number 66, spending most of his career in the AHL. His career and life were cut short after losing a battle with cancer. The AHL has honoured him with the Yanick Dupré Memorial Award, which is given to the player who participates in the most community service during the year. The Flyers also have an award named after him, and it’s awarded to the classiest player on the team that season.

The Biggest Star from the Philadelphia Flyers with Jerseys Numbered in the 60s and Number 68. Jaromir Jagr

One of the best players to ever lace them up in the NHL finds himself on this list after just one season in Philly. Jagr was a huge piece of the 2011-12 edition of the Flyers. He produced a lot, and his influence on the other players on the team showed as well. Jagr played 73 games for the Flyers, tallying 54 points (19 goals, 35 assists). On top of that, Jagr played alongside Flyers star Claude Giroux and helped him shine. Giroux posted what was his career high at the time in goals, assists, and total points. Giroux had 93 points that season (28 goals, 65 assists).

70. Danick Martel

Martel was on fire in the minors leading to his callup to the big club. Martel had 14 goals in 14 games in the AHL but was unable to find his scoring touch in the show. He went scoreless in his four games with the Flyers. Martel was eventually claimed by the Lightning after being put on waivers by the Flyers.
