The St. Louis Blues have an injury update regarding defenceman, Tyler Tucker, who was injured late in the team’s Game 4 win. Tucker is listed as day-to-day, but head coach Jim Montgomery did say Tucker will not be available for Wednesday’s Game 5 against the Winnipeg Jets.

The injury happened with just over four minutes left in the third period. Tucker went down in the corner behind his own net and his right leg bent backwards as he hit the ice. As he was helped off the ice, Tucker put very little weight on his right leg.
Prior to the injury, Tucker was having a great game. The left-handed defenceman scored his first-career playoff goal, which ended up being the game-winning goal in Game 4. Tucker joined the Blues lineup for Game 2 and has remained in the lineup since.
Future Availability
Tucker’s status does not give much indication as to when he could be available. At the time, the injury looked bad enough to possibly cause Tucker the remainder of the playoffs. It will be interesting to see if Tucker is able to return at any point, and if so, if there is any limitations to his play.
For Game 5, veteran Ryan Suter will join the lineup for his third game of the series. Suter sat in Games 3 and 4, games the Blues won to even the series. Suter, however, is an experienced defenceman who knows what it means to play in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
“He is going back in. I’ve got to give him credit. I’ve got to say it was hard to do when you respect the player so much and what he’s done in the league for years, and how much he’s helped us this year,” Montgomery said. “You make a decision and you live with it. But that day I told him, that practice, he was unbelievable. He’s a pro, and I know he’s going to be good for us. It was just a gut feel, and putting him back in, we’re getting our No. 1 penalty-killing defenseman back in.”
