Dallas Stars vs. Los Angeles Kings
Head-to-Head: Kings 2-0 Stars

Time: 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)

TV: ESPN+, Victory+, FanDuel Sports Network

The Dallas Stars and the Los Angeles Kings meet for the third and final time this season in Dallas on Friday night. The Stars have had success in their recent meetings with LA, earning points in 10 of their last 13 meetings. However, the Kings won both meetings in Los Angeles this season.

Los Angeles came from behind in each previous meeting. Forward Warren Foegele‘s third-period goal capped a run of three unanswered goals in December. Earlier this month, Foegele and Kevin Fiala helped lead the Kings to a wild shootout win. Fiala even scored a goal in overtime that was disallowed after a review for goaltender interference.

He still scored the game-winner in the shootout, and now Dallas will try to avoid the regular season sweep. NHL Predictions dives into the final matchup.

The Stars Story

Dallas is coming off a loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets that ended a three-game winning streak. The Stars’ offence has been clicking on all cylinders as they climb the Western Conference standings. Yet, the defence is in a tight spot.

Miro Heiskanen and Nils Lundkvist are on injured reserve. Emerging rookie Lian Bichsel is in concussion protocol, leaving a shortage of bodies and options on the blueline as the Stars only have six healthy players on the back end. Those issues could emerge again in this game as LA has scored eight goals in the first two games of the season series.

However, the Kings do rank just 17th in goals per game, and Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger has been among the best in the league this season. With him in the net, the Stars always have a shot.

The Kings Story

Los Angeles sits in third place in the Pacific Division with 70 points on the season and are 5-0-2 in February. The Kings have scored at least four goals in each win, seemingly setting a barometer for success. Only the Anaheim Ducks have been able to hold them to under two goals during that stretch.

Foegele, Fiala, and Adrian Kempe have led the offensive attack. Fiala and Kempe are among the top three Kings in terms of points and are the only two to reach the 20-goal mark. Fiala has scored seven goals this month, while Foegele has four.

Quinton Byfield has also impressed but could use some more scoring. The forward has been picking up multiple assists in most games but has not scored a goal since January 27. Plus, a Kings’ win could pull them within four points of division-leader Las Vegas and into a tie for second place with the Edmonton Oilers.

NHL Prediction

The Stars have been one of the hottest teams in the league since 2025 began, but the Kings have had their number this season. If the previous meetings are any indication, this game will be high-scoring. A healthy Dallas team would have a great chance to win that game, but the current defensive situation in Dallas changes things. If this game turns into a track meet, LA currently has the advantage.

NHL Predictions: Kings win 4-3.

Prop Bets of the Night

Fiala (+170) scoring a goal seems like a good place to start, given his recent run and success against Dallas. Dallas forward Jason Robertson (+180 any time goal) has been on a tear and has the second-best points-per-game average against the Kings. Evgenii Dadonov also has a successful track record against Los Angeles and an ongoing point streak that spans back to 2022. So, if you can find anything involving him, it could be a good deal.
