Ryan Walker vs. Sean Manaea
The San Francisco Giants wrap up this three-game series against the New York Mets today at Oracle Park.
Taking the mound for the Giants will be left-hander Blake Snell, who enters today’s game with a 11.57 ERA, 4.64 FIP, with 12 strikeouts to five walks in 11.2 innings pitched. His last start was in the Giants’ disastrous 17-1 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday, in which he allowed five runs on nine hits with three strikeouts and a walk in four and a third innings.
Welp, so much for that. Snell is instead headed to the 15-Day Injured List, and Ryan Walker will start in his place as an opener.
He’ll be facing off against old friend and Mets left-hander Sean Manaea, who enters today’s game with a 4.12 ERA, 3.54 FIP, with 21 strikeouts to 10 walks in 19.2 innings pitched. His last start was in the Mets’ 9-4 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday, in which he allowed two runs on four hits with three strikeouts and three walks in five innings.
